Then Now & Then.

Hello fellas, I know it is a little too early for wishing you a happy new year, we are three years into this new decade, and till now it seems quite okay when compared to the end of the previous decade. The deaths, mourns, cries, and fears. By the end of the decade, it felt like humanity will succumb to this disease and disappear.

But is it the first time ever humanity witnessed the such incident?

There have been a few ruthless natural calls to humans. Giving a closer look at history we can see an emerging pattern in dates, it has been witnessed that in every century an apocalypse comes into action, This may sound too fictional to be real but I do believe the numbers don’t lie.

It all started in France, the year is 1720 the plague roused and ended up killing 100k by the year 1723, later this plague was named the great plague of Marseille. The origin of this disease is still unknown but the death count is almost half of France back at the time.

A century passed, and it is Calcutta India, In the year 1817, a disease originated here and spread through the south-east-Asia, Infecting China, the Middle East, eastern Africa, and the Mediterranean coasts the plague was named the cholera pandemic also famous as the Asiatic pandemic infecting millions of people across Asia. It is believed that Almost every single Asian country was infected and this ended with the death of hundreds and thousands of infected by the year 1824.

After the Asiatic pandemic comes the deadliest pandemic humanity has ever witnessed, infecting 500 million people and a death count of around 50 million Spanish Flu shows how bad a really bad can be. It started from the year 1918 and ended up in 1920.

The next pandemic in the 21st century was the Co-vid pandemic, an infectious virus that killed 682K, and over 64 million people were infected by it. we already discussed the outcomes and where the pandemic led us.

We all have come a long long way from the dawn of humanity to date, we have gone through the Discovery of fire, the invention of the wheel, the generation of electricity, civilizations, modes of transport, and communication advancements from letters to wires to wireless. not only the ups we have witnessed the downs like wars, revolutions, tragedies, recessions, disasters, and pandemics.

We are just at the beginning of a decade and are experiencing almost a new experience that seems pretty abnormal compared to the beginning of the previous decade. We already have discussed the pandemic and its effects on our future we felt quite accurate according to the situation back then. But where do the current events lead us?

I did a small survey among my Uni-pals asking them what the future or year 2060 will look like, the answers were quite fascinating, traumatizing, and depressing too. According to the survey, the future has two different faces like a coin, one is the ideal world and another is the dark side which we are barely prepared for but intensely worried about.

The ideal world will have cleaner energy, advanced technologies, telepathy, No discrimination, No hate crimes, and whatnot. Some would say a Utopian future.

The Dystopian future is what everyone is and should be worried about, we are walking onto a path that leads to nowhere in the future, In the future, we may not have water, pollution will be so high that skin diseases would be common, human will wear anti toxic suits, no clean energy, AI taking over the jobs, losing the jobs simply means poverty, which then leads to the downfall of the economy, results in an unhealthy environment that is directly related to increases in crimes and unethical deeds causing unwanted deaths more like dusk of humanity.

This ultimately takes us back to where we started and that my friend can be the extinction of humans
